A damsel fly waiting for the sun to come out.

Damselflies, are stunning creatures of vibrant blue hues. This one is  gracefully perched for a portrait. Unlike their larger cousins, dragonflies, damselflies fold their wings along their slender bodies when at rest. Damselflies are best photographed in the morning, they rest on blades of grass, waiting for the sun to warm them before taking flight.  As guardians of freshwater habitats, their presence signifies the health of ecosystems.
